We are Amour Vert

We are sustainable fashion.

We create beautiful clothing with versatility in mind.

We pioneer entirely new fabrics that don’t pollute.

Our local supply chain and distribution channels have the lowest possible environmental impact.

GREEN

LOVE

The fashion industry is one of the top polluters in the world with a long history of enormous water waste, using toxic dyes, employing dangerous chemicals for growing cotton, and using crude oil to produce synthetic fibers.

So, we started Amour Vert. We vowed to do better than anyone before us, to leave the world a better place than we found it, and to make beautiful clothes that women love to wear.

Buy a tee, we plant a tree

With every purchase of an Amour Vert tee, we will plant a tree in North America with our trusted partner American Forest®. To date, we’ve planted over 200,000 trees and supported 21 reforestation projects.

Precise Production

Our fabrics drape beautifully, our limited-edition prints are artist drawn, and everything is made in limited quantities to ensure the highest production standard and eliminate excess waste.

OUR

SIGNATURE

FABRICS

Our fabrics are exclusive to Amour Vert. We work directly with mills to pioneer new fabrics, that are soft, beautiful, durable, and of course, sustainable. We are constantly innovating and developing new textiles to create our clothes.

OUR MULBERRY SILK

We source only the finest Mulberry silk from family owned operations to create our lustrous and light fabric. Our silk prints are inspired by nature and created by artisans exclusively for Amour Vert. We take great care to use only nontoxic dyes to create our vibrant colors. Silk is hypoallergenic fabric that can be worn all year round.

OUR SIGNATURE BEECHWOOD FABRIC

Our Modal is made from sustainably harvested beechwood in a carbon neutral process. No pesticides, herbicides or insecticides are used for growing. No genetic manipulation. Beechwood fibers require 50% less land for cultivation and use 10 times less water than non-organic cotton. Modal has a gentle, ultra soft feel, a perfect drape and is wrinkle resistant, which makes for the softest tees in the world.

OUR CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON

Our GOTS certified organic cotton is free of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and genetically modified organisms. The toxins used in growing non-organic cotton are harmful for farmers, workers, us as consumers, and the entire ecosystem. We feel the effects of these toxins in our daily lives in the way of irritated skin, rashes and even headaches, which can be caused by chemical residue trapped in the bers. Yet despite these risks, less than 1% of all cotton is grown organically. Our cotton and cotton blends are durable, smooth and have a soft finish.

CRAFTED IN CALIFORNIA

97% of our clothing is made within a few miles of our San Francisco office in the best sewing and cutting shops in the Bay Area. Local production means less transportation of clothing and less of a carbon footprint. It also means we can visit the factories daily to ensure fair wages and treatment of the people who work there.

DANIEL | CUTTING FACTORY OWNER

Number of Employees: 6

Gender Ratio: ALL MALE

Location: OAKLAND

Daniel has owned his own factory for 23 years, and has been working with Amour Vert since our founding in 2011. Daniel started his career in San Francisco as a supervisor at a cutting shop, which ended up downsizing and laying off a lot of his colleagues. At that time, Daniel decided to open his own factory and bring his coworkers with him so they wouldn’t be unemployed. He’s proud to have given his employees work for so many years.
“I love working with Amour Vert because they realize the benefits of local manufacturing for all parties. Production will take 3-4 months overseas, whereas here we can finish a job in 2-3 weeks. Everyone wins.”

CONNIE | SAN FRANCISCO FACTORY OWNER

Number of Employees: 16

Gender Ratio: 15 FEMALE, 1 MALE

Location: SAN FRANCISCO

Connie fell in love with clothing production in school when she was 20 years old. When she moved to San Francisco from Hong Kong, her sister already owned a sewing shop and helped Connie open her own under ethical labor practices. It's now twenty years later, and Connie is still managing a dynamic team in her bustling shop. We are so happy to have Connie as part of the Amour Vert family!
“I am happy to be able to provide jobs for people. It’s a better salary for everyone to make clothes where they will be sold. I really love working with Amour Vert.”

CINDY | SAN FRANCISCO FACTORY OWNER

Number of Employees: 9

Gender Ratio: ALL FEMALE

Location: SAN FRANCISCO

When you walk into Cindy’s factory, you are greeted by a friendly workspace and a tight-knit team. Cindy opened her factory twelve years ago with the help of a partner. She is now the sole owner and proudly provides one-on-one training for each of her employees. She’s wonderful to work with, and we are happy to have her as part of the Amour Vert family!
“Since I opened, production in San Francisco has continued to decrease. It is really important to manufacture locally, and to provide jobs for people in the Bay Area. I am very happy to work with Amour Vert because they understand the importance of local production.”

JEANNETTE | SAN FRANCISCO FACTORY OWNER

Number of Employees: 10

Gender Ratio: 8 FEMALE, 2 MALE

Location: SAN FRANCISCO

In 2011, Jeannette sewed the very first sample for Amour Vert, and she has been working with us ever since. Jeannette grew up in Wang Jo, China, and has owned her San Francisco factory for 18 years. Jeannette is passionate about helping companies grow, and watching the progression of a small idea blossom into a thriving business. We are so lucky to have been able to work with her for so many years!
“If all production was overseas, a lot of people in the United States wouldn’t have work. It’s very hard with so many of my clients moving overseas. Amour Vert allows me to stay in business. It is a very good company.”

NANCY | SAN FRANCISCO FACTORY OWNER

Number of Employees: 9

Gender Ratio: 8 FEMALE, 1 MALE

Location: SAN FRANCISCO

Nancy has owned her San Francisco factory for the past 36 years. At one time, she employed 200 people, but as most clothing manufacturing moved overseas, business declined. When we met her five years ago, she was about to close up shop. Today, Nancy employes a team of women who sew our garments. We’re proud to have Nancy as part of the Amour Vert family.
“I have worked with Amour Vert since the beginning of the company. The team feels like family to me.”

JACKY | SAN FRANCISCO FACTORY OWNER

Number of Employees: 11

Gender Ratio: 10 FEMALE. 1 MALE

Location: SAN FRANCISCO

For Jacky, clothing production has been a lifelong love. Sixteen years ago, Jacky brought his trade from Hong Kong to the San Francisco. Having a smaller team allows his employees to make a San Francisco living wage in a comfortable working environment, which Jacky is very proud of. We are thrilled to work with him.
“Local manufacturing is very important. There are many people in San Francisco who need jobs, and Amour Vert allows me to employ 10 women at living wage in this city. Amour Vert is a great company to work with.”
