Mountain Communities Wildfire ReLeaf

Project Name: Mountain Communities Wildfire ReLeaf

Location: San Bernardino Country, CA

Trees Planted: 5,000

Reforesting up to 200 acres of San Bernardino County to reforest an area severely affected by drought, a bark beetle infestation and intense wildfires. Project in conjunction with the Mojave Desert Resource Conservation District and Global ReLeaf.

Project Name: County Line Wildfire

Location: Osceola National Forest, FL

Trees Planted: 3,000

To convert a fire-burned, former timber plantation area in the Osceola National Forest to habitat for sensitive wildlife species like the gopher tortoise.

Paulding Wildlife Long Leaf Pine Restoration

Project Name: Paulding Wildlife Long Leaf Pine Restoration

Location: Paulding Wildlife Management Area, GA

Trees Planted: 3,000

Partner with Longleaf Alliance to reforest 50 acres of the Paulding Wildlife Mangement Area with rees to restore longleaf pine to portions of its native range and restore habitat for native species.

Lambert Run Reforestation

Project Name: Lambert Run Reforestation

Location: Monongahela National Forest, WV

Trees Planted: 5,000

Partnering with the U.S. Forest Service reforest up to 175 acres of Monongahela National Forest with red spruce, big‐toothed aspen to help mitigate the effects of climate change. The forest supports a variety of wildlife, including Cheat Mountain salamander, West Virginia northern flying squirrel and snowshoe hare.

Gold Planting

Project Name: Gold Planting

Location: Tahoe National Forest, CA

Trees Planted: 2,000

Partnering with the U.S. Forest Service to reforest 200 acres of California’s Tahoe National Forest with a combination of Douglas-fir, ponderosa pine, Jeffrey pine, incense-cedar and sugar pine to increase biodiversity in an area experiencing high mortality.

Up Top Fire Restoration

Project Name: Up Top Fire Restoration

Location: Bitterroot National Forest, MT

Trees Planted: 4,000

Reforesting 600acres of Bitterroot National Forest with lodgepole pine, Engelmann spruce and Douglas-fir to reforest a popular recreation area affected by a 2011 wildfire.

Yuba Fire

Project Name: Yuba Fire

Location: Tahoe National Forest, CA

Trees Planted: 15,000

To reforest 200 acres in California’s Tahoe National Forest to help restore watershed areas that have been damaged by insect infestations and disease outbreaks with the US Forest Service and Global ReLeaf

Trees Planted: 10,000

Reforesting up to 500 acres 25,000 Jeffrey, sugar, ponderos and Coulter pines to reforest an area severely affected by drought, a bark beetle infestation and intense wildfires.

Sugar Pine

Project Name: Sugar Pine

Location: Tahoe National Forest and Northstar Resort, CA

Trees Planted: 7,000

A Global ReLeaf project in partnership with the Sugar Pine Foundation to plant sugar pines across 152 acres in Tahoe National Forest area to reforest abandoned hayfields and improve the watershed for drinking water.

Box Fire

Project Name: Box Fire

Location: Gulf County, FL

Trees Planted: 700

Reforesting 70 acres to restore longleaf pine to portions of its native range, a habitat for species like the gopher tortoise, with the Box R Wildlife Management Area and Global ReLeaf.

Riparian Planting

Project Name: Riparian Planting

Location: Hiawatha National Forest, MI

Trees Planted: 10,000

This project is reintroducing native white pine, hemlock and white and black spruce to river wetland areas of Hiawatha National Forest to counter historic logging effects.

Pole Creek

Project Name: Pole Creek

Location: Deschutes National Forest, OR

Trees Planted: 16,463

Working with the U.S. Forest Service to plant ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir seedlings across 1,000 acres that were burned by the Brown’s Creek Fire.

Lower Rio Grande

Project Name: Lower Rio Grande

Location: Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Reserve, TX

Trees Planted: 16,000

In partnership with Friends of the Wildlife to continue reforesting areas of Texas’ Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge to improve wildlife habitat.

Location: Monongahela National Forest, WV

Trees Planted: 1,361

Workign with Trout Unlimited to reforest 15 acres of Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia with ed spruce and other trees to improve the health of a river ecosystem.

Chippewa Blowdown

Project Name: Chippewa Blowdown

Location: Chippewa National Forest, MN

Trees Planted: 3,500

To support the U.S. Forest Service in its ongoing efforts to replant millions of seedlings in an area devastated by a massive blowdown of trees in 2012.

Klamath

Project Name: Klamath

Location: Klamath National Forest, CA

Trees Planted: 5,000

Help the U.S. Forest Service to plant seedlings across nearly 800 acres that were severely burned by wildfire in 2013.

Lumpkin Fire Restoration

Project Name: Lumpkin Fire Restoration

Location: Forbestown, CA

Trees Planted: 5,000

To reforest the area impacted by the Lumpkin fire started on September 11, 2015 and burned approximately 1,042 acres.

This four-year project with the US Forest Service aims to restore the area to a longleaf pine savannah ecosystem.
