Glow Up For Summer 2025: Beauty Tips You’ll Want To Steal
Every year, when the temperatures start to rise, I do a little audit of what’s working and what needs an upgrade in my glow-up routine. Summer is about feeling confident in your skin, and that means updating your beauty game every now and again.
So, whether you’re planning to hit the beach, live in sundresses, or show up at brunch glowing like the sun, here’s what’s helped me level up.
Getting Smart About Hair
I’ll start with the big one: hair removal. I used to be one of those people who’d rely on razors until the last minute. But last summer, the razor burn, ingrowns, and that itchy stubble finally got to me, so I did the grown-up thing and searched for a laser hair removal service near me.
The only thing I can say is I should have done it sooner. No more rushed shaving sessions before pool days. Just smooth skin that feels like it finally got the memo that it’s summer.
Lightweight, Skin-First Makeup
I used to cake on foundation like I was prepping for a photoshoot. Now, I’ve shifted to skin tints or tinted moisturizers with SPF. Not only do they let your skin breathe, but they also save time. The trick is finding one that doesn’t melt off by noon.
Look for something with light coverage, some hydration, and a natural finish. Bonus if it’s packed with niacinamide or hyaluronic acid.
Sunscreen That Doesn’t Suck
For years, sunscreen felt like a chore. Sticky, smelly, and always leaving that weird white cast. But modern SPF formulas have come a long way. I found one that doubles as a moisturizer, blends like a dream, and doesn’t clog my pores.
If you’re not wearing SPF daily, even on cloudy days, this is your sign to change that. Regular daily use of SPF 15 or higher sunscreen cuts the risk of squamous cell carcinoma by about 40%.
Skin Cycling with a Twist
There’s been a lot of hype lately around “skin cycling,” which is basically rotating your active ingredients across the week.
For me, the summer version is all about exfoliating once or twice a week (chemical, not physical), moisturizing like my skin depends on it (because it does), and skipping anything too harsh when the sun’s out. Simpler is better when you’re sweating through your T-shirt.
Hydration, Inside and Out
Every glow-up list tells you to drink water, and yeah, it’s boring advice, but it’s in every list for the simple reason that it works.
I started tracking my water intake, and the difference in my skin, mood, and even energy was ridiculous. I also started keeping a mini facial mist in my bag. A few sprays mid-day give me instant freshness without ruining my makeup. It feels silly at first, but gets addictive fast.
Get Your Brows and Lashes Done
I used to ignore my brows until I realized how much they frame your whole face. I started tinting mine, which saves so much time in the morning. Pair that with a lash lift or tint, and suddenly I look awake even when I’m not.

Ditch the Full Mani and Go Minimalist
Maybe this one’s personal, but I found myself ditching the full set and going for short, clean, neutral-toned nails. They go with everything, don’t chip as fast, and still feel polished (pun intended).
Bonus points if you find a long-lasting polish or just stick with buffed, shiny natural nails. Low-effort, high-payoff.
Summer 2025 doesn’t need to be about starting from scratch or blowing your entire paycheck on new products. For me, the glow-up has been about simplifying. Taking out the stuff that wasn’t working and replacing it with smarter, more sustainable choices, like actually wearing SPF every day.
You don’t need to reinvent yourself this summer. Just tune in a bit more, trust your instincts, and maybe steal a few of these tips. If they helped me, they just might help you too.
